About UnpaidLoad
A broker said we held their load hostage. In reality we waited 8 hours at the shipper, documented on a signed BOL, and they denied our detention pay and charged us a $500 late fee. Then their broker report cost us broker partners. So we built UnpaidLoad to help carriers fight back and get paid.
What happened
- A broker filed a broker report claiming our truck held their load hostage.
- The real delay was an 8-hour wait at the shipper. The wait is documented on a signed bill of lading (BOL).
- The broker also denied our detention pay for those 8 hours and charged us a $500 late fee on that load.
- After the report, major brokers paused working with us.
- Broker reports like that usually allow one response within 72 hours. We missed the window because we didn't know it existed.
Why that matters
One report, filed in minutes, cost real freight. The paperwork to push back, and the deadlines, are easy to miss when you're running loads. So we built tools for exactly that: a free broker check, a demand letter and bond-claim packet for unpaid loads, a 72-hour countdown and response kit for bogus reports, and free carrier reports so carriers can share how brokers pay.
